Considered the most beautiful beach in the Dominican Republic by many, Bahia de las Aguilas will definitely take your breath away. Located in the Jaragua National Park, and part of a biosphere preserve, Jaragua is one of our largest and most sacred nature preserves. This unique virgin beach has amazing white sand and crystal clear turquoise waters that meet thick sprawling dry forest. It is home to many endemic species of plant and animal life, including rhinoceros iguana, a wide variety of native birds, and many exotic cacti, just to name a few.
During this two-day excursion you will also get to experience just how rich in biodiversity this country really is, when, less than an hour away from the beach, you will enter a road surrounded by Pine Trees and finally arrive at the Bahoruco National Park. Here you will visit the “Hoyo de Pelempito”, a geological anomaly, located 700 meters below sea level. You will feel the temperature cool down and enjoy the breathtaking view which usually inspires a bit of quiet meditation in the wild.
Last but not least, we make one final stop at beautiful Los Patos Lagoon and Beach. A pristine coastal freshwater lagoon of cool waters originating from inside the Bahoruco Mountain Range. Here you can enjoy a relaxing seaside lunch at one of the famous fried fish restaurants and later take a dip in the waters. The perfect way to end an unforgettable journey deep into the south of the Dominican Republic, a true diamond in the rough.
