Valle Nuevo National Park is known to many as the Caribbean Alps. This is geographical region home to many valleys and plateaus nestled in the heart of the Caribbean’s tallest mountain range, Cordillera Central. The park if found at an altitude of more than 7,000 feet, and is home to vast pine forests, enormous glacial boulders,  and endemic wildlife. Definitely not your typical Caribbean destination, this enormous nature preserve is a prime example of the unique biodiversity the Dominican Republic has to offer.
