Our Valle Nuevo National Park tour from Santo Domingo takes you overnight to what is known to many as the Caribbean Alps. This is geographical region home to many high elevation valleys and plateaus nestled in the heart of the Caribbean’s tallest mountain range, the Cordillera Central. The park if found near the town of Constanza at an altitude of more than 7,000 feet, and our tour takes you to see first hand vast expanses of pine forest, one of the tallest waterfalls in the Caribbean, enormous glacial boulders, and a variety of endemic wildlife, all of which are found inside this magical park. Definitely not your typical Caribbean destination, this enormous nature preserve is a prime example of the unique biodiversity the Dominican Republic has to offer. Just make sure and bring a coat!
